Natural health and wellness
If you had to choose between being healthy or being wealthy what would you choose? It’s only the first letter that differentiate the spelling of two words and yet what a difference in the actual meaning. There are lots of very wealthy people around, some from money handed to them, and others made their own fortunes.
Even with all their money people can be in poor health, they too become disabled and even die at a relatively young age. Money can help but it doesn’t buy you your health! The truth is no matter how successful you are and how much money you have health comes first.
Without good health you won’t be equipped to enjoy your riches and achievements.
We have to take responsibility for our own health as well as our wealth. And today we have so much good information on taking care of our health naturally. And how many times have you heard that you are what you eat? Our lifestyle and diet is so important!
Things have changed a lot from the days of natural foods from the local farms and communities. The farmers markets are extremely popular and that’s a good thing also not surprising. We have to be more diligent about the source of what we consume and where they come from.
Healthy nutritional diets
We cannot trust that the powers to be are concerned as much about our health but more about their profits. Many of our foods sources are proving to be unhealthy and unreliable. Foods are not as natural as they used to be with so much processing done to them. Besides so much of it not being natural a lot are coming from less than reputable sources.
More people of all ages are becoming health aware taking control of their own health. Recent surveys show a trend towards preventative health and the maintenance of good health. Values have shifted and where once acquiring possessions was the goal and seen as the symbol of wealth.
Juicing for good health
These days the trappings associated with health are becoming a bigger status symbol. For example green juice, and exercising are seen more as a sign of wealth, status, and discipline. These choices and habits are displaying the accoutrements of good health.
This good health is being viewed as more important than the accumulation of expensive cars, houses, jewels, and other material “toys.”
How to stay fit and healthy
It has been shown that consumers are more interested in staying fit and healthy than they are in paying for health care once they have become sick. They are willing to pay a higher price for products and services, which will keep them fit and well.
So rather than looking at the cash in your bank, why not take a few minutes to assess your own fitness level and see how “wealthy in health ” you truly are…
The areas you need to look at in order to assess your health include the following:
- Diet
- Exercise
- Relaxation
- Mental Wellness
- Leisure and Fun
- Community
- Relationships
- Spirituality
- Finances
How to live a healthy life
To give you an idea how you’re doing take a look at the following lists and rate yourself by giving yourself a rating of 1-10 for each one. Use a scale of 1-10 with 1 being not at all and 10 being excellent…
How healthy is your diet? What level is your exercise regime, how much of a priority do you make relaxation, rate your mental wellness. What do you do for leisure and fun how much of it do you have in your life? Are you connected with your community and how well?
When it comes to your relationship both with yourself and others, how well are you doing? And what about your relationship with spirituality and how healthy are your finances?
Are you living your best life
It’s very worthwhile spending a little time to answer these questions and open your eyes to how you are living your life. With this simple self-assessment tool you can easily see the areas of your life where you are truly wealthy. And also those where you perhaps are a little “poor.”
- If you scored, 7 or more you are doing pretty well and can feel proud of yourself.
- In the areas where you scored 5 or less you might want to take a closer look.
- If you scored lower than a 3 on any area, it indicates that you really should take a closer look, and focus on some strategies for improvement in that area.
Even though you may be very successful in your business or career and you may be absolutely loaded with money you may still be missing out. If your relationships consistently suck or your blood pressure is too high that’s not good!
How to reduce the stress in your life
And if you are constantly running on overdrive and stressed out with a heart attack looming that’s also not good. You might want to think about how wealthy you really are!
Perhaps as a society, we are finally starting to cotton on to the truly valuable things in life. It not commercialism and the aim to acquire possession. It’s used to be the more you managed to get the better, then you were considered successful.
The simple things in life
And usually only as you got older and wiser did you begin to realize those weren’t the things that made you happy. I think a lot of the younger generation are smarter in that respect. Many are actually living a life rather than always building for the future with things you get to realize you don’t always want or need.
In fact all those things are what keep people trapped and afraid to move. It’s good health, experiences and being connected to others that make us content. There’s less pressure, stress and more freedom. It’s the simple things in life are the best!
